I WANT to stop liking him (errr...i don't even know whether the word is 'like' anymore). I just don't know whether to classify it as 'like' or not. But I have really strong feelings for him...though I honestly do not really know him. We've never had over a few words...i think, for an entire semester while we were lab partners. It was just the most awkward thing ever...being his lab partner.
I'm scared this will take longer than two years to get over him.
What if I never get over him? My god.
Trust me, this is not uncommon. It happens to most young people at some point or another. I was infatuated with a guy I didn't know for two in a half years when I was in high school. Two in a half years is the typical length of the infatuation stage (or so I learned in psychology). You have a crush. It happens to the all of us. And, likely, you'll move on or if you decide to get to know him and start a relationship, who knows? Maybe it will become more. But we've all had this at some point in our lives.
I agree.. Please ask him out or at least try to get to know him better.. What's the worst that could happen? Him letting you know that he is not interested? That would basically not even make your current situation worse at all.. you have nothing to lose!
I don't think that will work though..haha. it's just that, he was my lab partner like..a year ago, and when we see each other on campus, I don't even think he knows who I am..
In this case I think my comment makes even more sense.. Why would you care about possibly making a fool of yourself in front of a person that would probably not even remember you.. If you are even remotely attractive this person would be happy to get to know you in a more personal way, and if not then it is obviously not meant to be and then at least you can forget about it.. I know it might seem like a bit step to take but if you never even try you have 0 percent chance of making a difference
That's very true, but it's easier said than done. I guess I'm just super scared that he'll think I'm some crazed fool. He's so smart (top dog at our school, btw) and he's so arrogant and confident and jeez.
Is it normal that my infatuation with this guy is not going away?

Actually, the infatuation stage usually lasts for about two or two in a half years I believe.
But, "liking a guy you don't really know", try telling that to me.
