Is it normal that my hamster chews the bars of his cage?

  • When my son was little he had a hamster. He said every night his hamster would gnaw the wires to it's cage. He never got out. Hamster teeth are always growing. You should get him something at the pet store so he can keep his teeth down.
Also get him a hamster ball. The kind you put them inside and they can run around the house. They can't escape. Can't get lost.
    Good luck!

    • He has this flavoured wood that he chews on and I give them to him in his cage.. but he doesn't touch them when he starts chewing the bars. It's good to know he can't get out, he's on a counter top so it would be bad for him to fall. He has a ball to run in, but he only is in that when I clean him out. Thanks for the info!
