Is it normal that my grandpa...?
Is it normal for my WW2 veteran grandpa to still hate Germany and the Japanese? Everytime we go out and we see a German or Japanese he looks like he's ready to shoot them or something!

He's old and stuck I'm his ways. Trust me. I work in a retirement community.
Some old people are sent in their ways, but younger ones are too. It either way, it still doesn't make it acceptable.
Yeah it is. kinda.
Apartheid: (noun) The policy of keeping different races apart.
South Africa was subject to that policy for years. The racial tension between Africans and Caucasians is HIGH, even if the Apartheid era ended almost twenty years ago. I, an African, am not racist. My ancestors have every reason in the world to be racist though, because they were treated like animals during the Apartheid era.
Your grandfather has reasons to despise the German and Japanese. We should respect that.
yea thats pretty normal i mean since hes been to war hes probably seen really bad things that have damaged the way he thinks about these countries
That's how my Grandpa is. He was in the Marines in the Vietnam war.
Everytime he see's another race, he always calls them by their racial slur
Alot of old people are still bitter about the war. I guess you would have to be there to understand. Seeing people get shot by germans or japanese people must have been terrifying, so that has probably started it all off. Racism is just a part of life, we'll never truely get rid of it. Still to this day there are neo- nazis and all kinds of race hating cults. There's nothing really that we can do.
