If she is a freshman as well, I'm going to guess she doesn't really realize the depth of what she's actually saying. Hell, most people are absolutely convinced they love cake. The word has lost a lot of the seriousness that it should have.
Basically, don't take it too seriously. I think she's too young to really tell if she actually is the crazy type.
