It is normal for her to still care about her ex, but it is a bit worrying that she aparently let's herself be manipulated by him.
It's also not realy good that you two don't talk through your problems and that she is dismissive of your feelings.
Still, if she feels bad and does not want to talk, give her time. - Yes, it is important to talk with your partner, but sometimes you have to sort through your feelings alone before you can talk aobut them. - In this case she might need you to give her some space and time for doing this.
If you push her to much to tell you how she is feeling it will only annoy her (as you realized already) and might make her clam up even more.
Tell her that you are always there if she wants to talk - and leave it at that.
