I'm going to assume you're both adults. If you're not, you're opening a big can of worms here and they're all too tangled to be worth my time sorting out, so I'm assuming you are.
So. Right, I'm going to say the parents thing could be a good sign as easily as it could be a bad sign. Don't worry about it.
That said, good luck. Not only have I never had an online-only relationship work, I don't even know anyone who has. And I know plenty of people who've tried. My guess is, unless you meet in person soon, it'll fizzle. So that's why I say 'good luck'.
