That happened to me... The girl thing. I was going out with this amazing guy, put together by my best best best best bestiest buddy in the world. Well, we went out for 4 months, I started liking him less, like I didn't like him as much. I saw the quality in him as a friend and went "Eh forget it." then I broke up to him saying I don't feel the same way anymore, I think him more as a friend, he was really upset. I am still friends with him, but now he has a girlfriend again, and he's happy. My point is, if she's still friends with you, she just wants to be friends. If she abandons you... She's a bitch. Either way, you'll find somebody else.
