My girlfriend and I have been together for over 7 years. We have normal sex about once to twice a month (which is good).
However most of the time (about once a week) we just end up masturbating together. We touch each other intimately. Usually starting with a massage.
It is always me who initiates our sexual encounters, always me who gives the massages, I never receive them. Although she will give me a wank if I am touching her.
Anyway, is it normal that we prefer masturbation over sex?

    instead of worrying about if it's normal or not... perhaps you should ask yourself if you're happy with this arrangement.

    if so, then carry on
    if not, then have a discussion with her about both of your desires

    Sound like your relationships revolves mainly around her needs and mood, you being the one who does thing for her without her reciprocating or returning the favor. I think it's slightly unbalanced but if you're happy with the arrangement i guess it doesn't hurt anyone.

      Well, my girlfriend and I do have "regular" sex, but we also figuratively masturbate together. Like we both text each other while we're masturbating until we both come. We usually do that maybe once every two weeks, especially if we don't get to see each other for awhile.

    I'll admit that some of what Crusades is saying is something that I was thinking about while reading this post. I mean it seems like it does revolve around her. However, if you're happy and content with your relationship then I see no reason to rock the boat.

      We've been together a long time and now have children. They are very good contraception (parents understand). When we first got together we were at it like rabbits (thus the children).
