Is it normal that my friend wants his nickname to be "psycho"?

My friend (a guy) makes everyone call him "Psycho". He made that his own nickname, and he won't respond to ANYTHING other than that. I think it's kinda weird. I mean even his own family has to call him psycho, he won't respond to his real name. And he took my phone and changed his contact name from "Steve" to "Psycho". I mean I get it, people have nicknames, but I think he is going to extremes with this name. Is this normal?

    It's probably cause he is a real pussy in every aspect of his life and he is over compensating by making you call him that . Or I could be wrong who knows lol people are fucked

    I knew a kid that sounds just like that. He would attack me all the time.... Guys like that seem normal at first but get weirder and weirder the more you get to know them....

    Nicknames just happen, thats the whole point of them. You can't just decide on your nickname because then it isn't a portrayal of your personality.
