Most people don't generally just block others out of nowhere. Although a lot of the people who do get blocked, or ghosted tend to be the types who lack insight, and are unaware of the things they do, and say to that turn others off. A lot of awkward people alienate themselves from others, because they don't know any better. I try to be fair, and communicate, but sometimes I just have to disengage completely.
I know most people wouldn't do that, but still some do. Ok but I still can't see any reason why someone shouldn't get a quick final message saying something like "I'm ending our friendship because of..... Don't try to reply to this, I've blocked you". That's the decent thing to do in that situation imo.
Have you ever had to deal with a super needy, and clingy stalker sort of person in your life? It's easier to tell a black widow spider not to bite you, especially because those are very shy, and docile spiders.
But if you block them after sending them that text/email then they won't have a chance to respond anyway. If they show up on your doorstep afterwards, acting like you didn't mean what you said in that text, then that's fair enough then to ghost them, they're deluded. But I wouldn't even consider that ghosting then since you did give them fair warning.
