Is it normal that my friend is becoming possesive

Well I have a friend, and I only met her a few weeks ago, and I really like her. But, she's become really possessive in the last few days. Like, If she asks me to go somewhere with her, but I'm already busy she'll go Really sulky and ask pointless questions like ''why can't I come?'' when all I'll be doing is ironing. She also sulks if I'm already with somebody else. And she wants to spend every day with me. Ive talked to her about it but she doesn't get that I like having alone time with other people as well as her. I might be out with somebody and she'll just invite herself along like we'd planned it. I already know that this isn't normal, and I don't want to ditch her as a friend. But how do I deal with it?

    She's a stage five clinger. How do I get her to stop? Its suffocating.

    Run away! Been there, done that. There's no way to get through to girls like that. It's like a cloud is over there heads but they don't know it's about to rain.

    Sit down with her and talk to her nicely about it. Agree to hang out with her sometimes, but tell her that you often have other things to do. Hopefully she'll understand. It sounds like she's lonely and doesn't have any other friends.
