Not normal at all, and doesn't sound like a friend to me. It sounds like they are possibly a control freak (everything has to be done their way) and/or jealous of you, and trying to ruin your art over it. I would not tolerate this, personally. If they don't respect your boundaries, or you for that matter, they are not your friend.
