Is it normal that my friend always never reads my texts?

Me and my friend have probably been friends for a year now. We met in college. And we started to exchange phone numbers and then we started calling, texting and friending each other on Facebook. After a while of that, she is starting to not even read my texts, answer my calls or react to anything else on social media. When we went to do some homework together, she "explained" to me that her phone's texts/snapchats are not working. Is that an excuse? And is this normal?

*EDIT* Thank you for telling me all of this great advice. How do I end this ghosting or "relationship" that we have? When I text her to ask if something is wrong, even then she does not get back to me!

  • It's clear that she wants to move on. I'm assuming you guys were never particularly close so she's just trying to drift away smoothly now.
You either try to question her or just let it go.

sounds like she is ghosting you, and tbh if she wasn't a very close friend of yours, you need to let her go. there's no use in running after someone who doesn't know your value.

It’s unlikely someone wouldn’t fix that in this day and age, how long is she claiming her phone has been broken for?

You need to learn that she isn't a true friend in any sense.

You need to let them go.

If I got that feeling id stop bothering them so much and see if they start talking to me again.

I ignore people the way you described sometimes.
