Is it normal that my family and i only went out once together?

I want to knowif it is normal for families to never hang out/ go out with each other. We only went out once together to an Asian restaurant and I was probably 7ish. I also only remember going fishing with my dad a few times but I can't remember that I ever saw him at home except a few times. I mean I know he was home more than that but I can't remember him being there. He's a truck driver so he is away a lot (I now realize) so maybe he really was never home?? As far as my mom goes, besides going to the store down the street every once in a while she never left the house except 2 or 3 times. (literally 2 or 3 times my entire childhood)

    It's different with every family, so I don't think its abnormal. I do, however, kind of find it sad in a way. :(

    I suppose it is. I used to go out allot with my family but now that I'm older I don't. Why spend time with people you don't really like? Your family might not be the social type and that's fine.
