Is it normal that my face goes numb while drinking?

If I'm drinking I'll know I've gone past my limit and that as soon as my body absorbs the alcohol I'll be pretty drunk but before that my face and lips go completely numb. This doesnt happen to anyone else I drink with that I've asked.

Is It Normal?

    It happens to me too. it kinda feels like how my mouth feels after using orajel. i can still talk and stuff...i just lose sensation in my face lol

    My lipa go numb, but thats because I tend to drink shots or drinks with higher alcohol concentration so Im not filling my stomach with needless sugar. I feel like it helps me dehydrate less quickly and avoid hangovers, but thats just me. :P

    When we spill our drinks friends laugh and say,
    "Have you a hole in your lip?"

    Just means lips are numb.

    My whole face won't go numb, but my lips will. However, this only happens to me when I've been drinking something strong like vodka, but not stuff like Baileys or WKD.
