    It sounds like he was trying to be funny. Men often fail at humor and don't even realize it.

    If you galloped away, it doesn't sound like it was that traumatic.

      Men are actually extremely funny, often our jokes get misunderstood, which is sad.

        Perhaps it's because they're said unknowingly at inappropriate times. Such as this. Then, they probably wouldn't be misunderstood.

        Also, if a joke is good and funny it shouldn't need to be explained, so no misunderstanding occurs.
