Is it normal that my cat talks in her sleep?

My cat talks in her sleep. She makes little meowing noises and whines. If I touch her to comfort her at that point, she will JUMP awake and look panicked until she realizes she was asleep.

Is this normal?

  • I think it depends on age but your cat seems to have a lot of personality. Lil kitty sounds adorable.

  • That's sooo cute and I wish my Siamese cat would do that mostly he talks to me about how he wants to go in the backyard. He's an inside cat cause I it's safer and I don't want him to get cat napped!

  • Animals also have dreams. They sometimes react physically to it, specially if they are young.
However, if she is talking there is something wrong; cats don't talk. :)

  • Ahahahha! Whenever I wake up in the middle of the night my Chihuahua is barking!! (it's a girl) :O and my king Charles spaniel mixed with a Rottweiler (is that what you call it?? He's adorable though! X D ) He always whines. Whenever I come near them when they're sleeping they wake up DX ! So you're lucky your cat doesn't notice you!! You're even more luckier that you get a cat! Ahahha. The thought of a cat meowing a lot when she sleeps makes me laugh! Ahahahahaha. So cute X) It's normal :)
