Naturally, if someone disagree with your opinion on the matter, they must be either stupid, brainwashed, or both. Nobody is entitled to their own opinion unless they agree with you.

People are entitled to their own opinion, but I don't have to agree with them. Homosexuality - especially male homosexuality - has been proven as natural, with likely genetic causes. People who imply it is "wrong" are generally incredibly bigoted, or woefully misinformed. Even if your comment was intended as a joke, it was a poor one, and in bad taste.

First of all, the word "homophobia", phobia is fear of something, morbid fear, disliking homos is hardly being afraid of them. I'm sure that homosexuality is natural, so is cancer and water, being natural doesn't mean its a good or a bad thing. While its a natural phenomena, I disagree that its a normal one, the human body wasn't designed for it, that's why two males can't have a kid, and thus, won't reproduce, therefore it means that the individual have either mental or genetic abnormality. In all species there are characteristics for males and females, which are always slightly different, however many of the homosexual males have displayed feminine behavior, which only proves farther that some kind of abnormality occurred during the development. Would you want your kid or sibling to be disabled? I'm sure you want them to be healthy, but does that mean you hate or afraid of the disabled people? would you disown your child if you find out its blind? same situation here. I'm not some hillbilly who thinks that god hates gays, I do have my opinion on the matter based on scientific theory, and while you might disagree with this theory, it doesn't make you smarter or dumber than me because you have different opinion. The fact that you resort to insults straight away only shows you to be an intellectual midget. You believe that everyone who disagrees with your agenda must be either brainwashed or stupid, overlooking the possibility that others might form a different opinion on their own, and not based on prejudice ideas.
As for the joke part, where I come from, we are not so uptight about political correctness, and basically joke about everything, including ourselves. Perhaps we have different sense of humor, but I assure you that many people would find this joke at least somewhat amusing. And if its not, well I work in science, not comedy. Either way, if people will be as uptight as you are, soon the expression "well at least he got his health" will be considered bad, because it discriminates against sick people.
