I'm not totally focused on being organic, just healthy. Some things I avoid are excess salt or sugar (they can cause high blood pressure & diabetes), genetically modified grains (various reactions), cholesterol (bad stuff!), soy (it has phytoestrogen, which is bad for my PCOS), artificial colors and flavors (just not good), and chemical preservatives (bad for you). Other things people check for are MSG, gluten, protein, fiber, carbs, or horomones in meats. Calorie count is NOT the most important info on the box!
Honestly reading the label is one of the smartest things you could do. There is soooo much junk in preprepared foods - I try to cook from scratch as much as possible.
Is it normal that my brother does this?
