My boyfriend did the same thing. I had to learn that men have their own way of speaking; and I can tell you now that his answer is a maybe.
Just be happy he actually said that, and not the typical, "I don't know...," shit most guys give (had exes that said this to just about any question.... A LOT!). Overtime his answer will change the more he becomes attached to you (don't give him a time limit though), and realize that you're the real deal. Don't pressure him, and just give him time; enjoy the relationship, there's no rush.
