I'll say this: relationships are never 50-50. There will always be one partner who is higher value, who doesn't text as often, who is more attractive or has more prospective other partners. For the sake of the relationship, it's healthier if the guy is in that position.
There used to be a saying that women married up and men married down. Women are only attracted to men whose attention and commitment is worth more than theirs.
