I was hanging out with my boyfriend and I was lying on my bed and he randomly out of nowhere picked up my belt off the floor and started spanking me with it. He was just messing around. He wasn't doing it that hard. Most of it didn't hurt, just a few times he did it a little harder and it stung a little bit. It was more like gentle taps. He would never really hurt me. I still had my pants on. It surprised me because he's never spanked me with a belt before and I wasn't expecting it. He's not abusing me. He was just fooling around. Is that weird that he did that?

    Yes, it is perfectly normal.

    He probably wants to introduce spanking into your relationship but is afraid to talk to you outright.

    If this is something you are interested in, then encourage him.

    You could ask, oh was I naughty? You could say hah, didnt feel a thing, etc
