I think you are being unreasonable. Why don't you pick up a controller and play along with him? You aren't even trying to see his side, maybe you'll like it.
Hey, maybe she has tried video games. I've certainly played a few, and they just aren't my thing. Not everyone is into it.
It seems like the bigger problem is that she wants him to spend more time with her. With video games and TV, some people don't consider that a bonding experience since interaction is pretty limited. You aren't really expected to talk during a TV show, right?
Overall, if I were OP, I'd try to talk to him and ask him to maybe run or go cycling with her at least once a week. Maybe ask him if he would like to go to some other non-gaming, non-athletic event. Take a cooking class! Try sketching at the local park! Discover something new together!
What she really wants is his attention, and she can't get as much of his attention when both of them are focused on a screen.
I beg to differ. You can watch TV with my partner and snuggle with them in your arms, then discuss what you've just seen after it's over. It's just you two, you can even pause it in the middle if you want XD
Even if they did both like TV and video games, maybe she would like Star Trek and he prefers murder mystery? Maybe he plays a lot of 1 player story type games which she can't really participate in? Maybe she would prefer puzzle type games or something else that he doesn't enjoy?
It's a matter of finding something to do that they both would enjoy, and so far it is looking like trying something new would be their best bet.
Is it normal that my boyfriend's laziness makes me angry?
