For some reason this reminds me of A Christmas Story when they end up going to a Chinese restaurant and eat duck instead of ham.
You can't go all out one year and then think it'll be okay to skip the next 2 Valentines Days. XD It's not hard to go out and get a card and some chocolate, or at least treat you nice! Tell him it bothered you and see what he says. I would feel like a horrible person if my boyfriend got me something/did something for me and I didn't get him anything.
