Is it normal that my boyfriend controls when we have sex?

Okay so I am a 19 year old female. I have a boyfriend of over 1 year and he is the only man I have slept with. He has been with plenty of women before(He is 25 years old). I noticed that the first few times we had sex whenever it was convenient to him. I never thought anything of it until he turned me down for sex. Every time he asked before I didn't turn him down. The one time I did, he ripped the blankets off me and thought I was okay with it. I laughed and tried to play it off, but it hurt me. It's not like I don't like sex(Believe me, I love it). I just don't want to be treated like a sex doll. Is it normal that this happens? Help please!

P.s. He isn't a controlling man other than that. He is the sweetest person and you could never tell that he would be controlling in the bedroom.

    He can't make you have sex with him. If you don't want it, tell him because it can be labeled as raped and he can be charged as such. Be louder when you voice your opinion, make sure he hears you. If he continues, dump his greedy ass.

    Thanks for the comments. He loves me, but he has his controlling ways. He has admitted it to me this past week. Sometimes I feel unsure about him since he is controlling in the bedroom. I just don't want it to escalate and I be in a bad situation. I don't want to make him seem like a bad person. This is just one thing I noticed and I wanted advice on it. I was looking for a way to approach him on it without him feeling offened.
