To the OP, try to get him to exercise. What made him stop exercising to begin with?
I don't exercise, but I'm not "overweight". However, I have a hard time carry people/things. The fact that he gets winded is concerning....
Even if he doesn't go to a gym, there are other ways you can get him to exercise. Go on walks with him or ride bikes. Does he eat out allot? Try to cook meals at home. If push comes to shove, maybe an intervention? If you tell hime to lose weight, just be as kind to him as possible. You don't want to hurt his feelings.
Is it normal that my boyfriend can't pick me up?

He's probably out of shape, but don't be mean to him about it, might hurt his feelings. Just find a clever way to get him in that gym!
