Is it normal that my best friend in the world is also my ex????

Im a 24 yr old woman, my best friend is a 22 yr old guy (we'll call him "A"). Me & A have known each other for 12 yrs, & our families are extremely close. Every since me & A was kids we had crushes on each other. We used to play together 24\7, but i moved away & we lost touch for about 7 yrs. We reconnected Dec '08 & it was like love @ 1st sight & I felt 12 yrs old again. We started dating fast & were like siamese twins. We made a deal no matter what, we would always be friends in the end especially since our families are still very close. We dated for 4 mths & broke up. We made up as friends, even FWB. Eventually we both started dating others, & i became even closer w/ his mom that when ppl ask who i am to her she says "my god daughter". I spend 24\7 @ his house & A & i hang 24\7. He says he'll always love & have feelings for me & wants to try again when we're a lil older so he wont ruin us with the immaturity young guys go through. I agree. So is its normal for us to stay bff til we're ready to date again?

  • I got something like that...i got way to close to her trusted her with the world but then she broke up with me... And honestly now i dont even care if we ever got together but just to have that oppertauntiy to have talks with her would be the world to me...nothing like a bestfriend you can talk whenever about whatever even if that means u cant be together as lovers...stay friends not just so it will develop but to have a love one.. We all need em thats why there are more then one person on earth

  • WOW, is it normal? You guys are awesome! The saying is: If you love someone, set them free. If they come back it was meant to be.
Yeah, you guys will be great. Just don't sit by the phone letting life pass you by waiting. Have fun, date others, (like he will) be BFF, and maybe eventually you'll settle down together.

  • It's very unusual, but that doesn't mean it never happens, or that it's a bad thing. In this case, being abnormal might turn out to be better than "normal." =)

  • you never know, it could work. though going from friends to lovers to friends usually ends up with someone getting hurt. i suppose if you both stay on the same page, at the same time you two will be ok.
