  • You are suppose to lose a lot of nutrients and become weak when on it. So I think that if you are feeling pain it is normal. If you think there is some reason for concern I would say alert a medical professional. They should know if something is wrong or if this sort of thing is just something that happens. Do you have any previous injury to it?

  • O crap I meant to say it was normal. I get really bad back pain sometimes and sometimes my knees will hurt

  • There are a BUNCH of reasons why this could happen. One is water weight gain, which compresses the nerves and muscles and is NO fun. It could also be cramps, which sounds weird but actually, cramps can occur in any part of the body. Mine happen in my tummy, my back, AND my legs (hip to ankle).

  • You could be experiencing some water gain/swelling during this time making your ankle ache. Supposedly, our joints become more lax during this time as well and that could be part of the problem.

    • That's what I was thinking...

It sounds like bloating. Maybe the OP should consider reducing her salt intake while menstruating.
