Is it normal that most of my online friends are a lot younger than me?

I talk to a lot of people on the internet, but they are usually 5-9 years younger than me. This includes people around the ages of 12-16 usually. Is this normal? This is one of, if not the only website that isn't full of younger teens that I go to regularly. I just want to know if more people around my age (21) talk to younger kids.

      True. But I usually don't respond well to them making immature remarks in a positive way. So I'm not really sure.

    NOTE: This does NOT include anything pedophillic in any way. I just talk to younger kids as friends.
