All depends on your workup of the situation. A lot of men genuinely enjoy being the providers, even if you yourself don't. Personally, I pay what I can with my income and it about amounts to 50/50. I was once in a relationship where I paid the majority of the bills.
I think you're really overgeneralizing things, especially considering that some men really take it as a hit to the ego if the woman pays as much or more than him.
