It's "normal" for Americans to feel "uncomfortable" around Middle Eastern men, but it's not right or based on anything real.
Americans are "uncomfortable" around Middle Eastern men because of how English gets translated in their (the Middle Eastern language speaker's) head. M.E. languages are *completely* different from romance (Latin-based) languages. M.E. languages are much more dynamic and direct. When a native speaker of Arabic or Farsi translates what they want to say into English in their heads, the end result is generally rude and aggressive sounding. They try to compensate for this by overspeaking (they repeat themselves, they offer "excuse" phrases, etc.). It's culturally acceptable for them to try and talk their way out of making you feel uncomfortable.
Native Asian language speakers have the same problem, but they're culturally programmed to shut up if they start making the people around them uncomfortable, so they end up coming off as aloof and disconnected, but it's the exact same thing.
It's all in the brains of the speakers. By and large, Middle Eastern men are kind, courteous, respectful, and helpful. These are meritous, pleasant, joyful people. If you're ever able to get over the "fingernails on a blackboard" style of English they speak, you'll find out just how calm and decent these people really are.
Don't decide that all people of Middle Eastern decent are vicious thugs just because a few of them are loud and obnoxious. You aren't a violent, ignorant redneck just because you're an American, are you? Don't judge an entire people by the aspects of their worst examples. If you do that, I promise you you'll be missing out on some of the nicest people you'll ever know.
