Is it normal that landlord / real-estate wont fix things and ignore emails.

These maintenance problems are not huge or dangerous but never the less I always pay rent on time and want these things fixed.

I swear they all have the same training to ignore requests. I mean where is the respect? How hard is it to take 2 minutes and reply to me. Even if it is a no, show me respect and reply! I pay their wage, you would think they could show some professionalism.

It annoys me because if a tenant does something as minor as not mow the lawns for a while they are the first ones to complain and make threats of breaching but they just ignore any requests by us unless it life threatening. Why are most of them like this?

Id ask an attorney but I have heard of people having something fixed and then sending the landlord the bill. Theyre obligated to pay

It costs a lot of money to hire a handyman to drive out just to tighten a hinge on your door or change a light bulb. A couple requests a month and it takes a big chunk out of their rental income. Learn to do things yourself.

Pfffff tenants don't care about the landlords income. Just like landlords couldn't care about tenants income.

    • Idiot, its a breach of lease to do things yourself. who would make a request for a light bulb? I'm talking about real maintenance like broken tiles or a door that wont lock.

So what, not only should tenants pay rent they should now pay for repairs. Why not just have the tenants build the landlords a brand new house.

Also real estates use their handyman which costs the LL nothing.

Pretty much if you are one of them idiots that purchased an old dump house and thought it was going to be easy money coming in dont get shocked when tenants want a nice place to live and you have to fork out money for repairs its life :)

I'm actually a builder :) Also in a lease it states you will inform them of all maintenance and damage, I'm just a little law abiding citizen
