  • If you are honestly laying down, no screens (phone, tablet, TV, etc.) In a dark place comfortably with the intent to sleep. Eyes closed the works and it still takes you that long than no it is not so normal. An average time to fall into a sleep after those conditions are met is roughly 10-15 minutes. I recommend getting a hammock (not a crappyrope one with spreader bars. Do some research to find one that's right for you. Mayan style are perfect) see how that treats you. Also consult with a physician about possible sleep aid (personally against this choice). Meditation before bed can also greatly increase sleep quality and ease of falling into sleep. There are also audio files with hypnotic suggestion and ambient music to aid sleeping. (I as an imsoniac have found great success with this).

Credibility: several psychology courses and extensive personal studies into sleep specific research. Also an insomniac myself.
