I have made tea by heating a cup of water in a microwave to boiling, and then adding the teabag. That works for black teas.
However the best solution is the teapot I purchased for my wife that has 5 temperatures (150 F - 212 F) depending on the type of tea, and then holds the temperature. Example: Green teas are usually best made with 165F water.
My wife totally loves that teapot... along with the many varieties of high quality tea I buy for her,
IIN that it pisses me off when people make their tea in the microwave?

Real uniform hot water is best.
