  • If you have had crushes on guys and if you feel the way you described ("they are hot..."), I would say that it is not asexuality - maybe low sex drive or lower sexual desire/arousal, but not asexuality.

    • Not necessarily. Asexual people usually still experience aesthetic attraction, and many experience romantic attraction.

      • Of course not necessarily, it is impossible for us to set the diagnosis about her sexual orientation (asexuality) based on a few lines online. That is why I used the words "would" and "maybe".

I just have the impression that SOME people jump too quicky at the "asexual" terminology even if they are hetero/homo/bi....sexual just because they do not feel sexual desire, which might be sometimes misleading because asexuality as a sexual orientation should be stronger. As far as I know from the sexologists and their university textbooks and studies/articles published in professional scientific journals (not pop psychology), romantic attraction is linked with sexual orientation to a certain degree.

But I am not a professional and moreover, I am not a native speaker, so I might have missed some subtle meanings in the words used in the original post, but in general I would understand the terms "hot" and "crush" as potentially sexually "charged", but as I said I am not a native speaker... But I still think that low sexual desire or arousal disorders or temporary disinterest in sex should not be confused with asexuality as an orientation (and based on the confessions of self-diagnosed asexuals I have seen in some videos and discussions online I would say that unfortunately this is what sometimes happen but I really cannot say anything definite about this topic or about the OP).
