This is happened to me quite a few times before. (My Asperger's makes me far more likely to meet interesting women online than offline!)
This sort of occurrence is only becoming more commonplace with the increased popularity of the Internet. I too went a few years before I saw a picture of the woman that became my love interest. (I never pressured her for a picture, and she had a good reason not to openly display pictures of herself online to begin with.) The feelings were strong enough that I didn't care what she looked like, anyway. I'm hard pressed to think I'll ever know anyone so exciting, and I'm sure you feel the same way about this particular girl.
