that's the art to socialize ,you have to change with changing people or you may be kicked off for being odd or awkward.... our mind goes that way... we sometimes act seriously in a serious environment and often act foolish and crap while we're with friends ... we talk babyish with children and try to act mature with adults and this is how it goes normally ...
and as you stated ,we can come in to the act of showing off or getting confused when in a huge crowd or a group constantly noticing us.. so just chill be what you are do what you want and enjoy.....!!
