She doesn't trust you at all. What has to happen is, if she has or sends anyone to check on or be with you, that person has to say..No. He's 14 and can take care of himself.
I did that with my sister and nephew. Was the kid trustworthy? No. But he had to learn, and, at 14, was too old to be checked on or have me go over to stay with him. Sister asked, and I said no. Kid is 14, going to be 15 soon..He needs to be home by himself and not have his uncle (or anyone else) sitting with him.
