Is it normal that is it normal is a bait site?

NSA, MI-6, ASIO, CIA, etc, they all have their internet data mining algorithms. And, when they run them the results point to is it normal as a haven for weirdos with potentially dangerous personalities. Ironically, logging in multiple times without participating gives one the highest risk assessment of all.

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Shut up, creep. Edward Snowden is listening.

  • Does it mater? You're deluded if you think it does. The sheer amount of information availiable means that, by it's nature it needs to be prioritized based on key words, then more key words, then content, then higher order content, then maybe, MAYBE it might possibly be read by a human being, but probably not.

The notion of any intelligence agency giving two fucks about you is arrogance at it's absolute worst. If they are baiting, then they have bigger fish to fry. Sorry mego.

Tag it! #terorism, extremist, bombing, kill, president, nuke, whitehouse, Islam, plane, infidel, biological warfare, child porn, rape, missile, water supply, vagina, retard

        • They will never come knocking, but if you repeat those hash tags a few times, and then make a couple of $20 donations to Muslim charities, the computers will probably put you on the no-fly list.

          • I think that's being a little paranoid there.

There are some word combinations that will set off the triggers and are nothing like what Douch spat out. What WILL are actually abbreviations for word combinations because people that are into pedophilia for example aren't going to communicate amongst each other with word combos like "hey man did you ever abduct that LittleGirl because I'm in some serious need for some CHILD PORNOGRAPHY"

The criminals they are trying to detect aren't that stupid (or smart *wink wink*) so that's why coded language and slang will set off the alarm not shit that's in plain English.

(speaking of algorithms the stupid comment blocker gave this comment a false positive and didn't want to push it through but that just goes to show)

  • The word bait makes me think of fish. Damn, some sushi would be good right now. Heck a fish sandwich would be nice too. I'm so hungry.

    • Why don't we go fishing on thegypsysailors boat. We'll cast our lines and see if we can catch any candy bar wrappers of the basement floor.

  • After 30 seconds on this site, any intelligence, agency or personal, would realize that this site is frequented by the most innocuous and least likely people on earth to be a threat to anyone but themselves.

    • I'm not so sure about that. You, for example, are a threat to intelligence everywhere

    • Very interesting. Big Data wants to know if you buy mint favored condoms.

  • Then why wouldnt people who look at this site multiple times throughout the day without logging in have the highest risk....

Anyway if law enforcement consistently found that real terrorists were on this site alot they may monitor it but Im sure thats not the case

    • I understand the intent of this OP but what's the source?

The majority of people on this site believe it or not don't comment. They're Lurkers. The reason the algorithm points to such individuals is because silence gives them no information thus makes them a suspect. But that's just a theory if I believed the content.

Without a source I call Bull Shit.

      What say you Lonely2

        -
      • I say you're not quite on target. A small percentage of the lurkers are more dangerous than regular participants, so data mining must filter out the safe lurkers. This is done by looking at other internet behavior that indicates the person is safe, such as Christian relics, or charitable activities.

Of course, I am oversimplifying. Big Data is complicated. Target Stores recently creeped out parents of teenage girls by mailing them coupons for maternity clothes. The computers figured out the girls were pregnant before the parents did based on their purchasing patterns.

        • I totally understand the context now but maybe you could edit you post to look like... "NSA, TARGET, ASIO, WALLMART" ... Just figure, I'd throw that out...

          • Yes, that would make the topic more clear, but unfortunately it's too late to make the change.

            Comment Hidden ( show )
        • The computers didnt figure out anything..obviously the girls bought some sort of baby shit way before they told their parents they were pregnant

          • Nope. According to the article, women increase purchases of lotion by a Large amount at the end of the first trimester. When this happens in conjunction with switching to scentless soaps, pregnancy is indicated.

            Comment Hidden ( show )
      • Theres so much more connection between various types of firearm purchases and other ordinance and certain groups that they would not waste there time on bs like this....creating software programs are expensive...they arent gonna waste resources on something thats a big waste of time...there are real sites and types of purchases that have been linked to terrorist groups and they monitor those ....so yeah its total bs...now there is a large amount of data COLLECTION and this is mostly email and telephone usage

        Comment Hidden ( show )

        • They don't have to write any software, they buy data mining packages like SAS or Hadoop. These packages can spot terrorists as easily as they can spot pregnant teenagers, or loans likely to default. You simply tell it what to look for by changing the metadata.

          Comment Hidden ( show )
        • Yes they certainly wouldn't waste their time on fire arm purchases because the seller has to personally call the ATF to look up info on you before selling you the gun. Unless it's a person to person sale.

Those most interested in data mining are corporations, the FBI CIA etc are most interested in storing the info for retrieval but space is running out and they cannot keep it all

          Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Yes, we're the bait.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Is this another crazy conspiracy theory?

    Comment Hidden ( show )
      -
    • It's not a conspiracy, nor even a theory. Just the characteristics of the math that data mining algorithms use. For example, your internet usage may correlate with wearing perverted underwear. Nothing wrong with this, just so you don't care if they know you are an underwear pervert.
