Is it normal that i would give up everything to be royalty?

I know this sounds incredibly obvious but I would give up everything I own, all my friends and family (even though I love them), even my identity just to be part of the royal family.

Even though now the kings and queens of england a figure heads and don't have nearly as much power as their ancestors I still feel like I was meant to sit on the thrown, to be part of history, I would be continuing the legacies of all the rulers before me.

When I see documentaries about the present day royal family I long to go to their prestigious schools and roam the grounds of Windsor castle.

I am also technically related to the queen herself (not by blood) which makes it that much harder to watch their lives play out in the media. I just sit there and think "Why couldn't it have been me?"

Anyway If you bothered to read all that then hats off to you! Sometimes it just feels like I have an obsession with that family.

It's normal to have fantasies like this but I think you've taken it a little too far. Your fantasy of what it's like to be royalty may be nothing like it is in reality. It's a little alarming that you would give up your loved ones for something you've never even experienced. You know, the grass always seems greener on the other side so I'm sure that the royalty sometimes wish they could have a normal life like the rest of us.

I think if given the opportunity to serve; once the responsibilities and disclaimers were laid at your feet, the prospect of losing your own family and those closest to you would not longer be such an easy task. When faced with the actual situation, it would not be such a casual decision.

Fantasies are sweet. Reality is much more bitter to the tongue.

There once was a girl who envied the Queen,
When she turned on the telly her face would turn green.
Each day she would sit on her throne made of porcelain
And think of the kickass monarch she would have been.
One day a fairy gave her the chance to be royal.
If she'd give up her family and her friends who were loyal.
The girl said no probs, lets make the switch!
The fairy just laughed and said I crown you Queen bitch. :P

Don't take this too seriously hun. You need to get your priorities straight.

You might want to start by knowing what a 'throne' is. Royalty are supposed to be well educated.
