We all have a dark side. Every infant is a selfish, greedy little shit who believes the world revolves around them. If that wasn't hardwired into our brains, our species would have gone extinct long ago.
If parents do their job right, those instincts are controlled and suppressed as a child grows up. But we all have a self-obsessed, anti-social three year-old lurking somewhere deep down in our brains, and that obnoxious little asshole is filled with rage whenever they're thwarted. If it thinks it can get away with letting all its infantile instincts rip, or it sees no other means of getting its way, it will act out.
This model neatly explains road-rage, internet trolls, Donald Trump and many other things in the modern world.

I actually group those two together myself, trying to get through to people sometimes. I see both as brain washing. I know people that watch politics on TV and it makes them angry and they buy into all the crap. Even otherwise smart people. Sometimes I wonder if they have subliminal messages on politics on TV.. Also, religion. OMGAWD... how friggin annoying. It's all brainwashing when somebody is raised into their family, being taught that their religion is fact. Not every religion can do that and be accurate, right? I don't understand why nobody studies every religion in the world to decide which one they want to follow. They just blindly believe what theyre taught. It's culture and psychology. I try to make this argument to get thru to people with mixed results, because it's common sense.

You are absolutly right! Politics and religion are both very common vehicles of making otherwise intelligent minds think stupid shit. Its because people conform their mind to not question the truths that their political affiliation or religion is built on, and then they be rational with their views of everything else. I have literally known christians who are hardcore science and need won't believe anything in their life without irrefutable eveidence, yet they build their life on a god with which there is not a scrap of evidence for. And don't even get me started on other parts of the bible. My first comment was very seriously what I think brings out the worst in people and your last reply was excellent!
