Who cares where the zipper is; and if you can't tell the basic shape of a woman because of a zipper placement... you should see an optometrist or ophthalmologist (or perhaps a psychiatrists).

USN dress uniforms used to have a flap at the front with 13 buttons. Having had to deal with that for a few years, I can tell you that it was a really stupid design.

No. You need to go back another hundred years or so...
There have been all kinds of ideas for clothing in the past that did not really work out.
I am told by my brother that kilts do have real advantages though... especially in warm weather.
