Good point with the rattlesnakes actually. Doesn't make it right though. Some would say why not tame them? Take a chance on a few? I know Detroit is different unfortunately.
I'm a mixed guy and on the East coast but each city is different. I work between N.Y. and D.C. There are disruptive/obnoxious/bad people out there like that regardless of skin color(trust me I know). I feel bad you were forced to move. I prefer the countryside too over the city. More peaceful, quiet, relaxing. and norms are different. It's like a different mindset is taught. My parents moved our family to the suburbs when we were young too keep us from growing up near gangs and the street life. I'm glad I'm not in it but I would like for the dark side of society to progress. Ignoring it completely won't help in the long run because they outnumber us and will keep moving further out.....
Iin that I wish there was a place for only white people to live?
