I understand how you feel. I view Alexander from Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Maxwell from Don't Starve as the grandfathers I never had. Both of my real grandfathers were huge jerks who emotionally abused my parents and never wanted anything to do with our family. Alexander and Maxwell are awesome because they have supernatural powers and sympathetic backstories. Not to mention the fact that in my imagination they are always there for me and watch over me like guardian angels (more like fallen angels given the things they did in their games, but you get the idea). Most people will probably think I'm either trolling or really pathetic and need to get a life, but I don't care. I will always love my imaginary badass grandpas.
