I feel that a child needs 2 parents. 2 GOOD parents. 2 GOOD, CONSISTENT AND LOVING PARENTS. Not bashing single parents here, but a child often has a better chance to thrive in a home with two loving parents.
That being said, while I feel that children of gay parents have many advantages, they will also deal with the social stigma of having a gay couple as parents, whether it be from religious bigots or just plain bigots.
I believe that stigmatising, outcasting and berating a group of individuals was not what Jesus had in mind when he said to "show your love for my by showing your love for my children". It sickens me but if you were in that position, your life would be filled with criticism and stigma. Hopefully, one day, people will see that children need to two parents, and two loving parents, regardless of their gender.
