Is it normal that I wish I was a different race?

  • I'm Caucasian, half American/half Colombian of Spanish, German, Welsh and Scot-Irish decent mostly and I don't see any reason to try to be something else. If my ancestors treated anyone unfairly in the distant past I don't see any reason to fret because I didn't act bigoted toward anyone and that was then and this is now. I don't owe anyone anything and assuming that you've never been bigoted toward other races then neither do you.

I don't think anything good comes from white guilt. Shame about perceived misdeeds in past won't change anything and could eventually cause resentment. Try to love and accept who you are.
