Is it normal that i will eat the steak at literally any stage of cooking?

Like I can eat a steak well done, blue rare or anything in between and still think it tastes good. Sometimes even completely raw. My impression is most people are far more picky with this, want to see how many are.

I won’t eat it raw. And if I order a $30 steak at a restaurant it better be medium rare or I’ll send it back. But at home, I don’t really care.

  • I like to sear my NY strips in olive, and other seasonings, in the cast iron, just enough to crisp the outer layer. Then I bake it in the same cast iron at 350 for like ten-fifteen minutes and viola! Juicy, slightly reddish pink steak that practically melts in your mouth.

I don't like grilled food at all usually, unless it's wrapped in foil or something, because grills usually dry food out and the only good part about it is that you can taste the fire.

I will throw a London broil in a crockpot though, they are super well done but they can also be cut apart by a plastic spoon. Makes really good curry

I prefer it medium rare, reddish to pink, but I will eat it almost any way, but not too well done.

I had a run-in with e-coli from under-cooked meat a while ago so raw meat scares the shit out of me (har-dee-har).

The only raw meat I would eat is the heart of a deer after I shot it. In normal living I'm a medium rare and higher kind of dude. I have zero taste in quality, high grade steak and a low budget one tastes nearly the same to me.

      • I used to not notice those things, but then I started learning about what food does in your body and how it changes you. Then I noticed McDonald's burgers made me feel awful, which made me try other food out. I realized there are companies out there that will take food and pump it full of stuff to preserve it, to make it cheaper. So I slowly started leaning towards the better food, or the more expensive as I thought of it back then.

At this point I can refuel myself pretty well and it feels so much better than saving 10 to 20 dollars at the store
