Is it normal that i was sexually abused as a child?

I'm sorry to for you but this is common in group homes to happen in.

News about issues like that do pop up in the press or tv everyday all over the world.
It seems to be a regular thing, I can't call it normal coz it isn't. For what I've herd institutions forget boys do need a sexual education most times or all times when their puberty starts. Either they simply don't care or prejudice comes ahead. Religion is most times the reason for it.
For what I know most boys do not turn gay coz of that but some do and other already married and with children do keep chasing boys. Some get caught and go to jail.
I watch in tv all the time. Its a transverse matter and a real problem at least here in Europe. I don't know very well what happens in America. Maybe you can tell about.

Sorry to hear you were sexually abused. It's not normal, but unfortunately it happens.

I lived my dream, I was a porn star...sadly it was child porn so not really the same thing...but now I'm living my other dream, I'm an alcoholic.

Some people seem to enjoy life others don't, I guess it's just the luck of the draw.

As for how common it is, you could try finding the percentage rate of sexual abuse per year. The last I checked, which wasn't that long ago, it was fairly high.

I too was sexually abused but it was by my grandmother and I'm currently in therapy, which has really been helping. if you can afford it, I highly suggest that you find a therapist who specialises in sexual abuse.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I don't know if it's common, I've never heard of that, but it seems like it would happen now that I do think of it. I hope you find someone you think is worthy to share this with.
