You have to have both a fair amount of flexibity and a low amount of body fat. For me, I have to be around 10% body fat for it to be only mild discomfort and a good "over halfway in" of self-suckery, but of course your milage may vary. My plopper's 7 inches when activated, so anything from 5 up should be great. I'm pretty muscular, so that shouldn't be a hindrance if you're a lift-bro.
As for flexibity, start stretching regularly, if you don't already. You can find plenty of cute routines to go through, but the most important stretches, I think, are butterflies and anything else involving compressing your stomach while streching your legs. Be extremely patient when building up flexibility. Don't try to break anything or power through pain. Getting to where you're aiming may take a few months.
If you can manage it, make it a habit to stretch every day, with morninga being the ideal time. It has monumental benefits that, believe it or not, greatly surpass trying to suck your own dick.
As for positioning, it's all in the experimentation. Don't bother trying to do it at all in the morning, as you muscles will be at their tightest. The later in the day it is, the looser your muscles are going to be. What I've found to work (and I am so sorry to anyone who doesn't want to know this):
1a) Standing up, bent straight over, possibly with hands around butt to pull in closer. This is okay for this, but it's easy to bend too far and hurt yourself if you get overenthusiatic. Which is a common theme in this endeavor, by the way.
1b) Sitting on a firm ledge, same idea. It's better for leverage and easier to control without hurting your back.
2) Lying on your upper back/shoulders with your hips and legs pulled up into positin for dick suckin'. You can either brace your feet up against a wall for leverage, if it feels comfortable. Hands around your butt helps enormously..
3) Sitting in a "butterfly" stretch position, hands around your butt to pull in. This is my favorite for comfort. You sacrifice a bit of reach, but it keeps your body in a much more natural position.
A couple more things: Move into and out of positions slowly and carefully. You don't want to cramp a muscle by rolling out too quickly. Also, cum tastes fucking nasty. Consider that carefully if you decide to finish in your own mouth or, coincidentally, anyone else's. Don't get it in your hair or, god forbidn your eyes.
