It's sometimes (most times) insecurity/jealousy, sometimes (rarely) it's fuelled by what I assume is hatred/disgust. Regardless, don't get caught up in the dumb slut. After you see her, you'll want to know more about the situation, after you know more, you'll want to know about their sexlife, and so on. It's not good for you, even though it seems it'll put your mind at rest (it won't; after you completely exhaust him of the info, you'll feel there's more) and he'll hate bringing up a part of his life he regrets and wants to forget. Basically, it's like a never ending "If you give a moose a muffin..." but with more loathing and tears. Don't go down that path.
